From homecoming to parades to bonfires and from old to those who just recently started, traditions are a part of the DNA that makes up high school. One may say the most interesting tradition is the one that brings the community together. Another person may say that it is the one that's the hypest. My school may say that it's the one that’s new and needs work. It is a staple in high schools everywhere. It is the Homecoming Parade. Kenneth Brown Jr.
Sports, they are a part of life in high school. They are a way of rallying the community together and showing the hidden talents of students but, sadly for some, this is not always the case. At my school, sports is not as high on the totem pole because we have academic challenges, low school spirit, and people like many our students has written us off. We drew the short stick. As the school year ends, the big news is that SMOD is out. According to a recent survey, 75% of parents and staff polled said no the the question of student to continue to wear SMOD next year. 74% said Yes to the question of Smith to discontinue the SMOD policy next year. With that done, the next question is what's next? The School Leadership Team is crafting a new dress code for next year and will be as close to the school's system dress code as possible but for students all across campus, No SMOD is the best news this year.
