The Boys JV game got off to a good start. A close start. The Eagles scored the first basket, Shaquice Futrell, but the Eagles would have a hard time shaking off the Panthers who would try to come back outscoring Smith, 15-13 in the 2nd Quarter. Eagles lead by 1 at the Half, 29-28. The back and forth shootout would continue in the second as the Eagles led 47-45 going into the fourth. The fourth quarter a good offensive effort by Darryl Cooper and defensive effort by the team would give a lead, not a good lead but a sizable lead. as they go on to win, 71-61 Terrence Burris led Smith Scorers with 16. Tyrell Dumpson and Shaquice Futrell also in double-digit scoring, Dumpson with 13 and Futrell with 15. This is their 3rd straight win beating Grimsley, Southern Alamance, and now Dudley. The next game on deck for both teams is an away contest at Southeast next Tuesday.
